Solar Eclipse 2017

The solar eclipse is coming, and the best spot in the world to see (and taste…but we’ll get back to that) the 2017 solar eclipse is right here in Hopkinsville, right here at Casey Jones Distillery.  With the longest viewing of the eclipse at 2 minutes and 40 seconds, Hopkinsville is quickly becoming THE spot to be for this August 21, 2017 celestial event.

Solar Viewing – Eclipse Prep Event

On August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse will cross the continental United States – truly an historic event and a wonderful opportunity to view one of nature’s most stunning displays. The point of greatest eclipse for August 21, 2017 is defined as the point where the sun, moon, and Earth line up most perfectly, near Hopkinsville, KY.

Join us for this prep event on Saturday, November 12, 2016 for the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Hopkinsville at Casey Jones Distillery for this solar viewing with 4 solar telescopes. APSU students will help you observe and learn about the sun (Sunspots, flares, and prominences). This fun and educational opportunity is completely safe and most people have never *actually* seen the sun. Bring the kids! In addition to education, we will have a food truck and as usual, tours and tastings of the Distillery.

The discussion will be led by APSU on the eclipse. Learn what an eclipse is, the historical and scientific importance of eclipses, why Hopkinsville is the best place on Earth for the 2017 Solar Eclipse, the experience of totality, and how to safely view an eclipse. Learn about the APSU ballooning project and the commemorative Casey’s Cut Total Eclipse Moonshine. Handouts will include educational materials and eclipse viewing glasses.

Join us from Noon – 4 PM, Saturday, November 12 at 2815 Witty Lane Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Call 270-839-9987 for more information.

Brice Long & Friends: Back2Back Concert

Brice Long VIP Concert

A cause that is near and dear to us is our friend Brice Long’s annual Back2Back Foundation benefit concert.  With the money raised during the performance by Brice and his singer/songwriter friends, they’re able to give Christmas to the kids in our community who may not otherwise get to experience that.  If you’re not familiar with the foundation, visit them here to learn more.

We’re big supporters of the concert, and this year our friends have gotten in on the fun too.  We have a guitar signed by Paul McCartney that will be going in this year’s silent auction.  It’s worth repeating, signed by Paul McCartney.  How cool is that?! This is a priceless item, and we know it’ll bring so much to the foundation.  We have some great friends, don’t we?

Another item we’re pretty excited about is our 2nd annual VIP concert with Brice Long at the Distillery.  Last year we had Brice, Rick Huckaby and Steven Dale Jones perform for a crowd of about 30 people.  There was dinner, a commemorative barrel pour of special edition Casey’s Barrel Cut (which is now on sale in Casey’s Corner!), and of course amazing music.  These guys are just so talented.  So we’re doing it again this year! Get together your closest friends, go in together and bid for this VIP concert evening next Saturday, July 23.

If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, come on out and see us for tickets.  You can also get them at the door.  Tickets are $10.  Learn more about this fun evening happening next Saturday, visit the event on Facebook.

The Whiskey Reviewer: Casey’s Cut Peach

Casey Jones Distillery Casey's Cut Peach MoonshineRichard Thomas, The Whiskey Reviewer, has featured Casey Jones Distillery and Casey’s Cut again! This time, he’s looking at Casey’s Cut Peach.

We won’t spoil the review entirely, but in Mr. Thomas’s words, “I became acquainted with Casey’s Cut Peach while waiting on my barbecue charcoal to get good and hot, and found it just as easy drinking as said cup of wine. No water, no ice, no tiny sips. I could just drink it and enjoy it.”

There’s a reason why Casey’s Cut Peach is one of our most popular flavors of moonshine.  Read the rest of the feature on The Whiskey Reviewer.

Remember to visit us Fridays and Saturdays 10 AM – 6 PM so that you can taste Casey’s Cut Peach along with our other spirits.
